The World Habitat Awards engage with external advisors and experts with a wide range of experience in the field of housing, who contribute to the selection of Award winners.
The Advisory Group select the finalists of the World Habitat Awards, and has a changing membership, to include new members every year.
In 2024 the Advisory Group consists of:
- Dr Alexandre Aspan Frediani – Principal Researcher at the Human Settlements Group, International Institute for Environment & Development (IIED)
- Christophe Lalande – Housing Lead, UN-Habitat
- Dr Claudia Murray – Research Fellow at the School of Real Estate and Planning, University of Reading
- David Ireland OBE – Chief Executive, World Habitat
- Freek Spinnewijn – Director of FEANTSA
- Julieta Perucca – Deputy Director, The Shift
- Louise Winterburn – Deputy Chief Executive, World Habitat
- Rumana Kabir – Civil servant and Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University
- Terrie Alafat CBE – Non executive positions – Chair of Riverside, Chair of the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, Vice-Chair of Crisis
- Tom Newby – Director, Engineering Consultancy Buro Happold
- Professor Yves Cabannes – Development Planning Unit, University College London
World Habitat also invites external housing experts to contribute to the Awards Assessments, and this year our special invited guests are:
