Florence Bachelard-Bakal

Florence has over 30 years of experience in development and impact financing in emerging markets, with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Throughout her career, she has led low carbon initiatives as well as debt and equity financing, across countries from Central Asia, Ukraine, Central Europe and the Balkans and Northern Africa.

Florence, a Chartered Director and fellow member of the Institute of Directors, has also been NED on a number of boards operating in these markets, where she focused on corporate and risk governance. She is also a trustee of a charity focussing on education in Serbia.

Florence has been a leading voice on the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors such as steel, cement and other construction materials and championed low carbon strategies and financing initiatives designed to address the climate crisis, in particular in the built environment.

Florence is a dual British and French citizen.
