This project comprises a single housing development of 5,000 homes for low-income families. A social programme is run alongside the construction programme covering education, health and the environment to encourage public participation in the construction process, a well-kept environment and the generation of employment. 2,000 homes were achieved through the supervised self-build programme. Community involvement has been strong throughout the programme, including the community purchase of land, training workshops and the construction of homes, parks and community zones. The project continues to progress with an additional 8,000 dwelling programme underway.
