The World Habitat Awards 1985-1989

A compilation of descriptions of the thirteen World Habitat Award winning projects for the years 1985 to 1989, providing full details of the projects, all of which are amply illustrated in colour.

There is no shortage of housing problems what is needed are solutions. This book describes thirteen highly successful and innovative housing projects which can be replicated worldwide.

As part of its contribution to the International Year of Shelter for the Homeless in 1987, the Building and Social Housing Foundation initiated the World Habitat Awards. The projects included in this book are the winners of these Awards from Turkey, India, Malawi, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, the United States of America, Poland, Cyprus, Switzerland, Egypt, Costa Rica, Japan and Venezuela.
