A commemorative booklet of the global celebrations of World Habitat Day 2005 in Jakarta, Indonesia, including detailed descriptions of the World Habitat Award winning projects in the People’s Republic of China and Sweden.

The global celebration of World Habitat Day 2005 took place in Jakarta, Indonesia where the theme for the day was The Millennium Development Goals and the City. The commemorative report includes:

  • World Habitat Day Message from Mr Kofi Annan, Secretary-General, United Nations.
  • The Millennium Development Goals and the City – Mrs Anna Tibaijuka, Executive Director, United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT).
  • A summary of the 2005 World Habitat Award winning projects: the Straw-bale Energy Efficient Housing Project, People’s Republic of China and The Solar Housing Renovation Project, Gårdsten, Sweden.
