The global celebration of World Habitat Day 1997 took place in Bonn, Germany and the theme for the day was Future Cities. The commemorative report includes:

  • World Habitat Day Message from Mr Kofi Annan, Secretary-General, United Nations.
  • Future Cities – Dr Wally N’Dow, Assistant Secretary-General, United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (HABITAT).
  • A summary of the 1997 World Habitat Award winning projects: Urban Management in Curitiba – Building Full Citizenship, Brazil and the Europahaus Project in Langenhagen near Hannover, Germany.
