A commemorative booklet of the global celebrations of World Habitat Day 1993 in New York, USA, including detailed descriptions of the World Habitat Award winning projects in China, Australia and Germany.

The global celebration of World Habitat Day 1993 took place in New York, USA and the theme for the day was Women and Shelter Development. The commemorative report includes:

  • World Habitat Day Message from Dr Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Secretary-General, United Nations.
  • Women and Shelter Development – Ms Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Under Secretary-General, United Nations Centre for Human Settlements.
  • A summary of the 1993 World Habitat Award winning projects: the Ju’er Hutong Courtyard Housing Programme in Beijing, China and the Housing Co-operative Ludwig-Frank in Mannheim, Germany. It also features a summary for the Phylos Homes Project in Perth, Australia which received a Commendation.
