This project seeks to foster the development of tele-cottages and tele-villages which encourage people to carry out high-quality, high-value work from home with the aid of modern technology. They help to promote rural employment and consist of a public place (i.e. church hall, community centre) equipped with phone, fax, copier, computers etc. A tele-hamlet of 8 houses has been established in Herefordshire and plans for a 300 house tele-village are now underway. Being part of a small community avoids the social isolation of working at home.
