World Habitat, a leading international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting solutions to housing injustice, is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Challis as Chair of its Board of Trustees. Adam brings a wealth of experience in real estate strategy and leadership to the organisation, and his appointment comes at a crucial time as World Habitat seeks to expand its reach and impact.
Challis currently leads UK Research & Strategy at JLL, a global commercial real estate services firm. His extensive experience in the real estate sector, coupled with his deep understanding of urban development, make him an ideal fit for the role. Moving from the role of Chair of World Habitat’s Finance and Investment Committee, he will be instrumental in guiding the organisation’s new strategic direction and ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovative housing solutions.
“I am proud to chair World Habitat at such an exciting time in our history. We have been enabling safe and secure housing solutions for communities across the globe for nearly 50 years. Reflecting on the depth of organisational knowledge across our talented team and exceptional global networks with partner organisations, we are well placed to drive our strategy forward.”
“Adam’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for World Habitat,” said David Ireland, Chief Executive of World Habitat. “His expertise in real estate and his passion for social justice will be invaluable as we strive to achieve our ambitious goals. We are confident that under his leadership, World Habitat will continue to be a driving force in the global housing movement.”
Challis succeeds Dr Angus Kennedy OBE, who has served as Chair of the Board of Trustees for eight years, providing strong leadership through a period of positive change for the organisation. Expressing his personal gratitude, Adam said “We have strong foundations today in large part through the stewardship and hard work that Angus has contributed.” World Habitat also extends its sincere gratitude to Kennedy for his contributions to World Habitat’s success.
