The World Habitat Awards celebrate and showcase the very best solutions to housing issues all over the world. Every year we select ten finalists, from which two go on to be named winners. However, throughout the selection process we learn about many more projects that are providing significant housing solutions to people and communities across the world.
Unfortunately, we cannot give awards to them all – so this year we have decided to introduce a new category: Commended Projects.
Commended Projects are those that have not reached the final stage of the competition, but we feel deserve to be recognised for their achievements.
The 2018 Commended Projects are:
#GreenNFit Neighborhood Rebuild – USA
St Clements, London Community Land Trust – UK
‘New Ground’ Co-housing Community – UK
Dudley Community Land Trust – USA
Providing Houses to Women Residing in Dandora Dumpsite – Kenya
