We will be attending Habitat III (the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development) from 17 to 20 October 2016 in Quito, Ecuador. The objective of the Habitat III Conference is to renew the global commitment to sustainable urban development as well as to set the New Urban Agenda as a collective vision and political commitment for the future of our cities.
We’ll be coordinating three main activities at the conference, if you’re there please join us:
1. Exhibition
Throughout the week we’ll be exhibiting the World Habitat Awards winners since the awards began 30 years ago and showcasing the stories about the most recent award winners and Self-Help Housing in the North of England (UK). Our stand will be located in area C of the main Exhibition Centre from 17-20 October 2016.
2. Side-event
We will host a side event called People-powered housing: How communities take control. This will be a chance to find out more from Caño Martín Peña Community Land Trust and Self-Help Housing in the North of England (UK) an opportunity to share your ideas about people-powered housing.

3. Presentation of the World Habitat Award trophy
During the week at one of the plenary meetings at Habitat III in Quito, Caño Martín Peña Community Land Trust and Self-Help Housing in the North of England (UK) will be presented with their trophy.
