Quayside Village is an eighteen-unit housing project containing a mix of dwelling unit types and sizes that seeks to create a modern village in an urban setting. A range of environmental design features have been included to save both water and energy. A shared outdoor space forms the heart of the small community and accommodates informal gatherings, outdoor eating and children’s play areas. Communal facilities are provided to foster social integration. Residents were involved throughout in the design of the project and continue to be involved in its ongoing management.
