This public housing programme consists of 480 flats in downtown Panama City and 522 basic housing units in a suburban location. Dwelling sizes for flats are 21-27 m2 and 27 m2 for the houses (in a plot of 200 m2). The dwellings are only available to the poorest families. It is a comprehensive housing programme with reforestation, training, income generation and educational activities included. Innovative funding allows the unemployed to be housed due to a legal undertaking for the rental payment to be deducted from their salary when they are working.
