Location: Leicester (Hybrid)

Salary: £29,000

Closing date: Tuesday 31st May at 10am (GMT)

We are looking for a dynamic HR & Facilities Officer who will support the World Habitat team by undertaking a variety of tasks, including: managing our HR procedures, arranging business travel, carrying out administrative duties, uploading content to our website, updating and utilising our CRM, arranging meetings/events, calculating our carbon emissions and also assist with a range of financial duties as required. You will report to the Head of Finances and Resources and support her in the day to day running of the office.

World Habitat has adopted a hybrid way of working, so most staff are based in the Leicester office part-time, with some staff based internationally. Over the last two years we have focused on improving our office systems to enable us to work more flexibly, for example: online meetings, cloud storage, online travel system, salesforce and HR system.  The HR & Facilities Officer will have a key role in ensuring that we are able to work effectively in the office and elsewhere.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a variety of work, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, can work on their own initiative and is able to plan their work effectively. You will be comfortable with a varied workload where no day is the same. You will also be comfortable dealing with the staff and trustee team on a regular basis.

Due to the nature of our work, we require someone who is comfortable working with colleagues virtually and can build strong working relationships on and offline. You will need to be comfortable working part of your week remotely.

World Habitat is a UK-based charity – an independently funded foundation – with a diverse global reach and an exciting future. We have a unique insight and opportunity to influence housing around the globe. In a world which appears overwhelmed with deep problems and challenges, World Habitat looks for solutions that can overcome social injustice and help people thrive. The World Habitat Awards celebrate, champion and help communities develop new innovations, ideas and advances that improve the lives of people on low incomes. Our programmes seek to prove and boost exciting housing concepts that we believe have global significance.

We are a flexible and family-friendly employer. We offer flexitime, a 34.5 hour working week, some working from home, a generous pension, life cover, cycle to work scheme and a competitive salary.

We are a small and friendly team and have recently moved to a new office in Leicester city centre, with the majority of staff utilising a hybrid approach to their working. Our preference is that you will live within commutable distance from our new office.

At World Habitat we value diversity and we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and cultures as we seek to increase the diversity of our staff team to reflect our diverse work. We encourage career development with an appraisal system and opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills.
