Recognised globally, the World Habitat Awards honour practical, creative, and sustainable responses to housing challenges.
The next round of the World Habitat Awards will open for entries in January 2026.
The prize
Winning a World Habitat Award provides international visibility and acts as a mark of recognition that a housing solution is innovative, exceptional and exciting.

In addition, the two gold award winning projects receive a prize of £10,000 each.
Trophies are also presented to the two gold award winning projects at a special Awards Ceremony, and travel and accommodation costs are met for one representative of each project to attend.
Starting in 2025, World Habitat offers all gold and silver winners individualised support for a year to help develop their solution and promote their impact to wider audiences.
This support is tailored to the organisation and ranges from advocacy, as seen with our work with Homes for Good on the Social Purpose Private Rented Sector, to funding for the construction of a community centre, which we provided for TAWAH in Tanzania.
World Habitat Awards Network
All award winners (bronze, silver and gold) are invited to join the World Habitat Award Network: A group of former winners and finalists of the competition since 1986. Every year, new winners join the Network and every year it grows from strength to strength.
We organise online and in person meetings for Network members to learn about each other’s practice in the field of housing. Members can share information with the Network through a dedicated LinkedIn group and reach out to other members to explore synergies and collaborations.

“With partners such as World Habitat and the network they opened up to us, our dream of creating a housing fund… is closer”
Ivan Pavlovic and Zsuzsanna Pósfai, MOBA Housing SCE
