Ombretta is the Chief of the Land, Housing and Shelter Section at UN-Habitat, overseeing global housing, land, and slum upgrading initiatives. She leads the Global Land Tool Network and has managed the Arab Land Initiative since 2016. Formerly a Land Specialist for the Arab States, she coordinated the Housing, Land and Property Area of Responsibility and advised on land management, shelter, slum upgrading, and displacement. Her work is published by the UN and academic presses.
